Stafford, VA. An intoxicated suspect was arrested on Tuesday night after assaulting units with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office during an incident at Stafford Marketplace.

On June 18, 2019, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Sergeant Flick responded to a reported disturbance involving an intoxicated person at Stafford Marketplace in the area of Buffalo Wild Wings.

Upon arrival, he located a female subject matching the suspect’s description. The subject was swaying and yelling profanities during a phone conversation in the roadway in front of the Michaels store. After making contact with the subject, the sergeant detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from her person and observed that her eyes were bloodshot and glassy.

The suspect was identified as Kristen Younger, 35, of Stafford. After she continued to be belligerent, units attempted to take her into custody for public intoxication. The suspect resisted and became uncooperative. During the course of the arrest, she kicked a deputy in the torso.

While in the cruiser, the suspect slammed her head into the partition between the front and back seat of the cruiser, causing a small laceration to her forehead. When exiting the vehicle, she spit on two deputies. She was treated by rescue personnel and transported to a local hospital.

Once at the hospital, the suspect kicked a nurse and two deputies, and repeatedly shrieked at the top of her lungs. She also threatened to kill Sergeant Flick and attempted to bite him. She was subsequently incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond on charges of assault on law enforcement, assault on a healthcare worker, disorderly conduct on hospital grounds, drunk in public, and obstruction by force or threat.

During the incident at Stafford Marketplace, the suspect’s husband, Anthony Younger, 46, of Stafford was also taken into custody. He refused to comply with deputies’ commands to stop blocking traffic and to remove himself from a fire lane. He also attempted to interfere with deputies during the arrest of his wife.

He was taken into custody and incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond on charges of obstruction of justice, pedestrian in the roadway, and public swearing.
