Stafford, VA. A wanted suspect was arrested late on Tuesday night by deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office following a disturbance at a local motel. After being taken into custody, the suspect repeatedly assaulted law enforcement and deputies learned she was wanted on several probation violation warrants.

On March 12, 2019, at approximately 11:12 p.m., Deputy Betush, Deputy Wright, and Sergeant Aubry responded to a reported disturbance at the Motel 6 located at 401 Warrenton Road. Several witnesses reported seeing a female subject slap a male subject during an argument in front of one of the motel rooms.

Upon arrival, they found a male subject and a female subject in a room on the second level with the door open. The room was in complete disarray and the male subject advised that he and the female subject were just involved in a verbal argument. Staff at the motel requested that both subjects be removed from the property.

The female subject’s speech was slurred and she was unsteady on her feet. Sgt. Aubry asked her for identification and she said she didn’t have it with her. She stated her name was “Rhaena Camp.” She also admitted to arguing with the male subject and slapping him. The male subject decided not to press charges.

Camp was subsequently taken into custody for public intoxication. A search of her jacket yielded a substance consistent with marijuana.

When Camp was placed in handcuffs, she became very argumentative and began using racial slurs. She tried to escape the grip of Deputy Betush and she then pulled down her pants. She complied with the deputy’s commands to pull her pants back up, but continued to resist. Once placed in the back of the cruiser, she attempted to kick Sgt. Aubry and she spit on Deputy Betush twice.

The suspect was incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond on charges of assault on a law enforcement officer, attempted assault on a law enforcement officer, possession of marijuana, obstruction of justice, indecent exposure, and public intoxication.

Shortly thereafter, Sgt. Aubry and Deputy Betush learned that Camp had initially provided them with false identification. She was then identified as Leslie Camp, 41, of Fredericksburg. At that point, they also learned she was wanted out of Fredericksburg on five probation violation warrants. She was served the outstanding warrants as well as warrants for providing false identification to law enforcement.
