This is an open event, anyone can stop in and stay as long as they like. This event is intended to be a supplement to neighborhood events. We encourage each neighborhood/area to have their own NNO event to help their community and neighbors get to know one another. **If you are a business/organization that is interested in helping with the Stafford Market Place event, please contact the Crime Prevention Unit (call 540-658-4030 or email abingler@co.stafford.va.us)

The "26th Annual National Night Out" (NNO), a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, 2009. Last year's National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. In all, over 37 million people participated in National Night Out 2008. STAFFORD LAST YEAR: As an entire county, we entered into the National Night Out Award competition, and placed within the top 25 localities NATIONALLY! We moved up six spots from 2007!! Imagine what’s in store for 2009!
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to: -
Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; -
Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs; -
Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and -
