PIPE REPLACEMENT WORK WILL CLOSE A PORTION OF BROOKE ROAD IN STAFFORD ON MONDAY
Motorists should seek an alternate route during daytime hours

FREDERICKSBURG – On Monday, May 21 the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close a portion of Brooke Road (Rt. 608) to replace a drainage pipe.

Brooke Road will be closed to traffic near Eskimo Hill Road (Rt. 628) in Stafford County from 7 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Motorists traveling in the vicinity of this work zone should seek the most convenient alternate route. Commuters that use the VRE Commuter Lot on Brooke Road can use Potomac Run Road (Rt. 626) to reach Deacon Road or White Oak Road during the daytime closure.

The new drainage pipe will permanently replace the existing pipe that has undergone numerous repairs over the past several years.

Real time listings of work zones and road conditions in Virginia are available on VDOT's 24-hour traffic and travel information website www.511virginia.org. Motorists can also access 511Virginia by calling 511 from any telephone in Virginia.
