The goal of this grant is to develop and implement a static display board which will also incorporate the use of video to inform, recruit and ultimately hire better and higher qualified candidates for our law enforcement vacancies. The primary objective is to create a recruitment image for the Sheriff's office to be used in all promotional and recruitment activities. Completion of this goal will allow us to compete in the law enforcement arena where larger and more robust agencies seek the same highly qualified applicants.
This grant will allow us to utilize modern day technologies such as smart phone applications for the hiring of personnel. The hiring of personnel is the main purpose of the grant; however the grant will allow us to expand to other functions in the Sheriff's Office. The smart phone application can also be used for community policing along with recruiting. This will allow us to push information to the citizens of Stafford County such as community events and news that may affect their neighborhood. The same smartphone application can be utilized in crime prevention efforts. Crime prevention will be able to notify citizens of crimes occurring in their neighborhood and ways to help them from becoming victims of crimes. The smartphone application can be used for media campaign, thus allowing the public information officer to inform citizens of crimes reported to the Sheriff's Office. The smartphone application can be utilized to help in locating missing children and missing persons that reside in Stafford County.
