| Stafford, Va. The Stafford County Grand Jury has handed down a direct indictment in the murder of James LeRose that occurred on October 15, 2009. Julian Lee "Buzz" Burke, age 63, is facing 1 Count of Capital Murder –Killing more than one person in a three-year period, 1 Count of Capital Murder –Killing during a Robbery or Attempted Robber, 1 Count Breaking and Entering with Intent to Commit Robbery or Murder While Armed with a Deadly Weapon, 1 Count of Statutory Burglary, 1 Count Robbery, One Count of Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony – Murder or Attempted Murder, One Count of Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony – Robbery or Attempted Robbery, One Count of Theft of a Firearm, One Count of Maliciously Discharge of a Firearm at or into an Occupied Dwelling or Building and One Count of Grand Larceny.
The Stafford County Grand Jury handed down the indictments on Monday, August 2, 2010, after being presented evidence by Stafford County Detectives, linking Julian Burke to the murder of Mr. James LeRose. "This has been a terribly difficult time for the family of Mr. LeRose," states Sheriff Charles Jett. "Hopefully this indictment will start to ease the pain and uncertainty that this family has had to endure these last 9 months."
Stafford Deputies responded to the Second Time Around Store on Warrenton Road on the morning of October 15, 2009 after receiving a 911 call from a family member stating that James LeRose was found dead in his store. Mr. LeRose had gone to the store around 6:00 am as was his custom. Mr. LeRose had been shot and had succumbed to his wounds.
Stafford Detectives traveled to the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center, in Winchester, Virginia last night and served Julian Lee "Buzz" Burke with the Stafford indictments. Burke is already in jail facing a murder charge as a result of an incident that took place in Fauquier County in November of 2009.
