On January 30, 2017 at approximately 11:18 p.m. patrol units responded to a domestic dispute on Ramoth Church Road. Upon arrival, Deputy A.J. Layug interviewed an adult male and an adult female as well as two juveniles. It was learned that one of the juveniles in the residence had discovered a plate with powdery substances on it and told the adult female. Suspecting drug activity, the female decided to hide the plate. When the male was unable to locate it, he began causing a disturbance.

Deputies recovered a plate with blue and white powdery substances on it. The suspect, Christopher Wayne Scruggs was taken into custody and when he was searched a blue pill was recovered. Mr. Scruggs identified the pill and the blue powder on the plate as Xanax and stated that he did not have a prescription for the medication. The white powder Mr. Scruggs identified as Opana.

Christopher Wayne Scruggs, age 36 of Ramoth Church Road in Stafford VA, was charged with two counts of Possession of Controlled Substances. He was incarcerated in the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
