There has been a recent increase in overnight larcenies from unlocked vehicles in the county. Thieves who participate in this type of theft refer to it as “shopping.” They go from car-to-car, stealing from unlocked vehicles, often preying on multiple neighborhoods in one night. Your vehicle can also be “hit” while parked during the day or while out shopping. Don’t be an easy target. Wherever you are, simply keep items out of site and lock your vehicle.
