Detective A.M. Irizarry of the Stafford Sheriff’s Office arrested a 41-year-old local woman on May 10, 2016 charging her with a multitude of Larceny counts including Grand Larceny and Larceny with Intent to Sell or Distribute.

Cassandra Eley, while working as a nurse’s aide in Stafford, is accused of stealing prescription medication, unauthorized use of a credit card and a Virginia EBT card, as well as stealing collectable coins and treasured heirloom jewelry from elderly patients. Several of the pieces of jewelry were discovered in local pawnshops. However, many of the stolen items had already been destroyed. The victims of these crimes were elderly women who were in Ms. Eley’s care. There may be other victims yet to be discovered.

Eley worked in multiple jurisdictions including Spotsylvania, Caroline and Fauquier.

Cassandra Eley was arrested, brought before the magistrate and released pending a preliminary hearing that is scheduled for July 21, 2016.
