Sheriff’s Office Investigating Early Morning Shootout

On Sunday, January 17, 2016 at approximately 12:27am Stafford Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Providence Street in Northern Stafford County for a report of Shots Fired. The Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Center received several 911 calls reporting numerous gunshots being heard in the area. Deputies arrived in the area to discover at least two vehicles had sustained damage from gunfire as well as a nearby apartment building and townhouse. No injuries were reported.

Detectives believe that in excess of 30 rounds were fired. Detectives have identified two individuals who are believed to have been involved in an exchange of gunfire between two groups of people. Detectives are searching for at least two more individuals who fled the scene prior to the arrival of deputies. Those two individuals fled in a Dark Blue 4 door vehicle bearing New Jersey license plates. The vehicle is possibly a Ford Focus and may have sustained damage from the gunfire.
