Brief 15-minute stops between midnight-2 a.m. for crane work FREDERICKSBURG –Interstate 95 southbound traffic at Fredericksburg will be stopped for two 15-minute periods early Tuesday morning so workers can move a crane across the interstate’s travel lanes. Virginia State Police will slowly roll traffic on I-95 southbound to a stop just after midnight at the Fall Hill Avenue overpass, located between Exit 133/Falmouth and Exit 130/Route 3 at Fredericksburg. The traffic stop is estimated to last 15 minutes. Workers are moving a crane from the interstate shoulder to the median to collect heavy construction materials. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is building a new interstate overpass at Fall Hill Avenue. Traffic will be released to proceed once the crane is in the median. Shortly before 2 a.m. police will gradually stop traffic on I-95 southbound again for up to 15 minutes, allowing the crane to travel back to the interstate shoulder. |
