Interstate 95 Overhead Sign Installation

(New) Crews will continue work to install overhead sign structures on I-95 north and south at various locations in Stafford and Spotsylvania County this week. Motorists should expect lane closures and brief delays between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. at the following locations:

Spotsylvania - Sunday, July 13

I-95 South at the Fall Hill Avenue Overpass – located just south of the Safety Rest Area/Welcome Center.

I-95 South at the Route 3 Overpass – located at Exit 130 (Route 3/Fredericksburg).

I-95 South Entrance Ramp - from westbound Route 3. Ramp will be closed to traffic. Motorists should use Route 1 to access I-95.

Stafford - Monday, July 14

I-95 South Entrance Ramp – from westbound Route 610. Ramp will be closed to traffic. Motorists should use Route 1 to access I-95.


Stafford County

Interstate 95
(New) Tuesday and Thursday, 9 p.m. – 4 a.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on I-95 north between mile marker148 located near the Prince William County line and mile marker 152 in Prince William County. Crews will be repairing the permanent pavement markers in this area.

Route 1 North at the Falmouth Intersection
(New) Sunday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 5 a.m.; Route 1 north, just north of the Falmouth intersection, will be closed to traffic for sewer line installation. Northbound traffic will be shifted to one lane on the southbound side of Route 1. Motorists traveling south on Route 1 will be restricted to one lane in the work zone. In addition, motorists should expect delays on Route 17, Butler Road and Carter Street near the Falmouth intersection. This work is in connection with the Falmouth Intersection Improvement Project.

Route 656 (Greenbank Road)
(Update) Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on Route 656 (Greenbank Road) between Route 654 (Rocky Run Road) and Route 670 (Sanford Drive) for utility work.

Route 656 (Greenbank Road)
(New) Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on Route 656 (Greenbank Road) at Route 670 (Sanford Drive) for utility work.

Route 1706 (Plantation Drive)
(Update) Monday - Tuesday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on the eastbound side of Route 1706 (Plantation Drive) between Route 17 (Warrenton Road) and Route 652 (Truslow Road). Crews will be milling, paving and line striping in this area.
