ATTEMPTED HOME INVASION ROBBERY REPORTED

Stafford, Va. The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is reporting an attempted home invasion robbery took place on Riggs Road in the Leeland Station subdivision last night, Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at approximately 9:15 pm.

A male suspect, described as a white male, 5’8-5’10 in his mid 40’s, identified himself as a law enforcement officer and was allowed into the house. Once the suspect entered the house he presented a gun. The two residents of the house were able to escape, unharmed, and flee to a neighbor’s residence were they called 9-1-1. The initial investigation indicates that the homeowners were specifically targeted.

The investigation into this incident is in its early stages and additional information will be released as available.
