FLEET ROAD TO CLOSE TO TRAFFIC IN STAFFORD COUNTY
Closure between Route 17 and Berea Church Road planned as part of widening project

FREDERICKSBURG – Construction crews will close Route 750 (Fleet Road) in Stafford County to traffic at approximately 9 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, between Route 17 and Berea Church Road.

This segment of Fleet Road will remain open only to Dominion Virginia Power traffic, which has a facility at this location. The road is scheduled to be closed for approximately one month.

Fleet Road between Route 17 and Berea Church Road is scheduled to permanently close as part of the Route 17 widening project, underway since June 2013. The $48.9 million project is widening Route 17 from four to six lanes between McLane Drive and Stafford Lakes Parkway, a distance of nearly 2 miles. The permanent closure will occur at the end of the project.

VDOT is realigning the intersection of Route 17 and Berea Church Road project to improve motorists’ ability to access Berea Church Road from Route 17.

Real-time listings of travel times, work zones, and traffic incidents in Virginia are available on VDOT’s 24-hour traffic information website, www.511Virginia.org. Motorists can also access 511Virginia by calling 511 from any telephone in Virginia.
