TEEN BURGLAR CHARGED

Stafford, Va. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office reports the arrest of a 16 year old male juvenile, from Stafford County. The 16 year old has been charged with 1 Count of Breaking and Entering, 1 Count of Grand Larceny and 1 Count of Larceny with Intent To Sell. The 16 year old is currently being held at the Rappahannock Regional Juvenile Detention Center.

On June 18, 2013 Stafford deputies responded to a report of a breaking & entering at a residence on Neabsco Drive in the Leeland Station subdivision. Detective Kurt McBride initiated an investigation into the break-in and discovered that a camera had been pawned at a local pawn shop that tied the 16 year old to the break-in on June 18. A search warrant was executed at the home of the 16 year old on July 17, 2013. Evidence collected during the search warrant implicated the teen to the burglary in the Leeland Station neighborhood.

"We take this type of crime very seriously," states Sheriff Charles Jett. "Thanks to the hard work of the detectives and deputies in partnership with the citizens of Leeland Station, this criminal's activities have been stopped."

The 16 year old juvenile had just been released from house arrest and was on probation for a breaking & entering that he had committed in the same area in the past. He is being investigated as to his possible involvement in additional break-ins that have occurred in the Leeland Station area in the past few weeks.

This is an ongoing investigation and additional charges are possible.
