HUMAN REMAINS IDENTIFIED

Stafford, Va. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office reports that the human remains found in a wooded area behind the GEICO building, on Warrenton Road in Stafford County, by two juveniles on the afternoon of Monday, December 31, 2012 have been identified. The remains have been identified as Timothy R. Wait, age 45 of Stafford County.

Timothy Wait was reported missing by his wife on Thursday, May 12, 2011. He had been last seen walking in the area of Mine Road Commuter lot, in North Stafford, on the evening of Tuesday, May 10th, 2011. He had left his house after a disagreement with his wife. Over the last year and a half the Stafford County Sheriff's Office has had an extensive, ongoing effort to locate Mr. Wait, investigating numerous possible leads as to the location of Mr. Wait.

The Chief Medical Examiner's Office in Richmond positively identified the remains as Timothy Wait. The preliminary report of the autopsy of the remains by the Medical Examiner's Office and the investigation by the Sheriff's Office indicates that the death of Mr. Wait was not the result of foul play.
