TWO JUVENILES CHARGED AFTER EARLY MORNING HOME INVASION
Stafford, Va. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office reports the arrest of two Stafford County juveniles after an early morning home invasion that occurred in the Widewater Village subdivision. Two 16 year old male juveniles from Stafford County have been served juvenile petitions issued against them. Those petitions are 1 Count of Breaking & Entering at Night While Armed, 2 Counts of Assault, 2 Counts of Abduction and 1 Count of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony. A third suspect, Terry Adolfo Welch age 18 of 42 Brooke Crest Lane, Stafford is currently at large. Terry Welch is facing adult charges of 1 Count of Breaking & Entering at Night While Armed and 1 Count of Attempted Robbery. Additional charges against Welch are anticipated. Stafford authorities are actively searching for Welch.
At 1:58 am this morning, June 19, Stafford deputies responded to an address in Widewater Village for a reported home invasion. The male victim told deputies that he and his wife were held hostage, at knife point, in their residence, for approximately 1 hour, shortly after midnight. Three male suspects gained entrance into the residence, physically restrained the female resident and then made the husband walk through the house identifying valuables. The male victim was also assaulted numerous times during this time period. After about 1 hour, while the three suspects had split up to go through the house, the male victim was able to arm himself with a kitchen knife. Fearing additional attacks and fearing for the well-being of his wife, the male victim challenged the suspects and a struggle ensued. During the struggle two of the suspects were stabbed by the victim and all three suspects fled the residence. Within moments of receiving the 9-1-1 call from the victim deputies located one of the juvenile suspects in the neighborhood. He was transported to an area hospital where he is still receiving treatment for a stab wound. The second juvenile suspect ran home. He was taken to an area hospital by his mother, where, after being treated for a superficial stab wound was released and turned over to Stafford authorities.
The Stafford Sheriff's Office is searching for the third suspect, Terry Adolfo Welch. Welch is described as a black male, age 18, 5'10 weighing 160 pounds with a goatee. The Sheriff's Office is also investigating the possibility that these suspects may have been involved in other home invasions in the region, too include the one that happened in the same subdivision on Monday, May 21, 2012. This is an ongoing investigation. |
