| Juvenile Arrested in Shooting Incident |

| On Saturday, January 3, 2026, at approximately 4:25 p.m., deputies responded to a reported shooting in the 1300 block of Providence Street. Upon arrival, deputies located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds to the leg. Deputies immediately rendered first aid until Stafford Fire & Rescue arrived on scene and assumed medical care. Stafford detectives responded and conducted an investigation, which revealed the shooting occurred following a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical confrontation. Both victims, a 25-year-old male and a 38-year-old male, were transported to Mary Washington Hospital for treatment and are expected to recover from their injuries. The suspect was identified as a 17-year-old juvenile. The juvenile was taken into custody, and petitions were obtained for two counts of aggravated malicious wounding, one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and one count of possession of stolen property. The firearm used in the offense was determined to be stolen. The juvenile is currently being held at the Rappahannock Juvenile Detention Center. |
