Hit and Run Results in Significant Charges for Juvenile

On October 16, 2025, at approximately 4:20 p.m. Deputy S. M. Kotter responded to a reckless driving and hit and run complaint in the area of Kings Crest Drive and Crest View Drive.

Witnesses described a black Nissan driving erratically in the area before striking a parked, unattended vehicle. The vehicle then continued to drive on two flat tires before the suspect left on foot, abandoning the vehicle. Witnesses were able to provide a description of the suspect.

Numerous deputies responded to the scene in an attempt to locate the suspect. K-9 Jynx and K-9 Mija arrived and started to track the suspect. The suspect was located and arrested without incident. The suspect was identified as a seventeen-year-old juvenile male. A search of the suspect’s vehicle yielded two firearms and multiple ounces of marijuana.

The juvenile was charged with underage possession of a firearm, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, reckless driving, misdemeanor hit and run, driving without a license, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving an uninsured vehicle. The juvenile was remanded to the Juvenile Detention Center.
