A 36-year-old Stafford man was found behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle during his trip for potential narcotics.

On September 28th, at approximately 3:23 p.m., Deputy T. W. Jenkins responded to the Sleep Inn, located at 595 Warrenton Road, for an unauthorized use of a vehicle report. The victim advised she was staying in a room with Trent Robinson. Robinson requested the victim to drive him to get “crack,” but the victim refused. Instead, she would fall asleep only to be awoken when Robinson was leaving the area in her vehicle. It was also discovered Robinson had a suspended license and was wanted out of Spotsylvania on a felony capias.

Deputy Jenkins entered the vehicle as stolen. At approximately 7:34 p.m., First Sergeant B.U. Demirci and First Sergeant M.R. Flick observed the stolen vehicle traveling along Warrenton Road. A traffic stop was conducted at America’s Best Value Inn, which was coincidentally right next door from where the original incident occurred. Robinson was taken into custody without incident.

Robinson was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and driving while suspended. He was also served on his outstanding warrant. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
