The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that took place last night.

On April 29th at approximately 6:37 p.m. deputies responded to Courage Drive for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they located an adult male with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. It was discovered the shooting took place at the Spring Lake Motel, located at 3817 Richmond Highway, and the victim was brought to a residence on Courage Drive.

The alleged shooter has been identified and was known to the victim. There is no threat to the public. Detectives are still investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective J.T. Lynch at 540-658-4450.
