Parking on the highway is not a great idea. Parking there while intoxicated with a loaded firearm and THC based products is worse. On December 24th at approximately 2:26 a.m. Deputy C.C. Lee responded to the 400 block of Kings Highway for a vehicle stopped in the roadway. The suspect vehicle was still on, parked in the turn lane, blocking access into the shopping center. When Deputy Lee approached the vehicle, he discovered the driver was napping. After the 21-year-old finally woke up, Deputy Lee observed signs of intoxication. It was also discovered the driver was carrying a concealed firearm. Within the vehicle were numerous THC based products, baggies, and a scale. After conducting field sobriety tests, the driver was placed into handcuffs. The driver was charged with driving under the influence, possession with intent to distribute THC, carrying a concealed weapon, carrying a concealed weapon while intoxicated, and refusal. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $10,000 secured bond. |
