A wanted Fredericksburg man didn’t make it far after attempting to flee from an auto accident Friday afternoon.

On December 1st at approximately 3:55 p.m. Deputy S.C. Martin responded to the intersection of Butler Road and Camden Drive for an auto accident. While enroute it was advised one of the drivers involved fled on foot.

Deputy Martin was quick in locating the suspect on Castle Rock Drive. He was identified as Michael Louis, 20. It was discovered fleeing from a scene of a crash was nothing new to Louis considering he was wanted out of Spotsylvania for failure to appear on a hit and run charge. When Deputy Martin inquired as to why he ran, Louis advised it was because his license was suspended.

With one hit and run charge in the books and another on the way, Deputy Martin conducted a search of his vehicle. Within it were multiple suspected controlled substances. Louis was charged with felony leaving the scene of a crash, possession of controlled substances, and driving while suspended. He was also served on his outstanding warrant. Louis was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
