Deputies got another case of déjà vu stopping four suspects during a shoplifting spree at Kohl’s. If they read last weeks release, they would have known their fate.

On November 25th at approximately 8:51 p.m. members of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office’s Special Problems Unit were in Stafford Market Place conducting an anti-shoplifting detail. While there, they were notified by Kohl’s staff of a larceny that just occurred. Two suspects exited the store with several thousands of dollars’ worth of fragrances before fleeing in a small black car.

First Sergeant D.F. Purcell was quick to locate the suspect vehicle less than .4 miles away at the Circle K, located at 34 Prosperity Lane. First Sergeant Purcell, with the assistance of Deputy E.C. Taylor, approached the vehicle and all four occupants within it. While conversing with the driver, deputies observed a fresh bottle of Chanel Bleu next to him. The driver, in an unexpectedly honest mood, confirmed he stole it from the Kohl’s moments ago. All parties were detained as the 66 items were recovered. The total value of the items taken was $8,761.

Talking with the suspects it was discovered they were traveling from New York down to North Carolina and attempting to shoplift from numerous stores along the way. Their GPS revealed their next target was in Fredericksburg. Their destination was quickly rerouted to Rappahannock Regional Jail.

The driver was identified as Angel Chacon Lopex, 28, of New York. The passengers were identified as Yuniorlys Gil Planchar, 23, of New York, Dubraska Duque Maita, 22, of New York, and Robert Lopez Cedeno, 37, of New York. All four were charged with felony conspiracy and possession of stolen goods. Chacon Lopex and Gil Planchar were additionally charged with larceny. All four were held at Rappahannock Reginal Jail without bond.
