A Stafford woman was arrested for DUI after a crash in North Stafford early yesterday morning.

On May 27th at 1:15 a.m. Deputy K.L. Steffenhagen responded to an overturned vehicle accident in the wooded area near Garrisonville Road and Shenandoah Lane. The deputy didn’t need a trail of bread crumbs to find the crash since there was a pathway of crushed brush and foliage leading to the upside down Nissan Altima.

The driver was identified as a 21-year-old female and the deputy observed she had slurred speech and glassy, bloodshot eyes. She was transported to the hospital to be checked for injuries and a search warrant for her blood was served.

Upon her release from the hospital, the driver was transported to the magistrate and a warrant was obtained for DUI. She was held on an unsecured bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
