MAN CHARGED WITH 2ND DEGREE MURDER

Stafford, Va. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office reports the arrest of Junior Elwood Walker, age 41, of 709 Twin Brook Lane, Fredericksburg. Junior Walker has been charged with 1 Count of 2nd Degree Murder and 1 Count of Aggravated Malicious Wounding in the death of Darrell Blake of Stafford County. Walker is currently incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.

On Saturday, October 30, 2010 Deputy Ed McCullough responded to an address in North Stafford to assist a rescue unit on scene who was preparing to transport Darrell Blake to an area hospital. Through investigation it was determined that an argument had ensued between Junior Walker and Darrell Blake and Walker had punched Darrell Blake in the head. Shortly after hitting the victim, Walker left the scene and returned to his residence. Walker was arrested at his residence later that night without incident.

Darrel Blake died at the hospital on Sunday, October 31. Preliminary investigation indicates that Mr. Blake died as a result of the injury he sustained after being hit in the head. The body was taken to the Chief Medical Examiner's Office in Richmond, Virginia.
