Deputies located two wanted individuals and suspected controlled substances after observing a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road.

On April 11th at approximately 8:04 p.m. First Sergeant M.R. Flick was traveling South on Richmond Highway near Sage Lane when he observed a vehicle traveling North in the Southbound lanes. As the vehicle came directly towards him, First Sergeant Flick attempted to have the vehicle stop with little avail. The driver and passenger appeared unresponsive as the vehicle veered into a ditch.

Major R.J. Dembowski was also in the area and quickly assisted. Major Dembowski was able to put the vehicle in park and turn it off to prevent further incident as rescue responded. The odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from the vehicle, and both driver and passenger showed signs of being under the influence. It was discovered they both were wanted out of Stafford County for drug related offenses. After becoming responsive, both were placed into custody.

A search of the vehicle resulted with multiple suspected controlled substances being located, as well as, open cans of alcohol. The passenger was served on his outstanding warrant and held without bond. The driver faces charges of driving under the influence, failure to maintain control of her vehicle, and possession of controlled substances upon her ability to participate in a bond hearing.

Great work to all deputies involved. Driver sober or get pulled over.
