Two DUI drivers were arrested on the same day due to both of them making an illegal U-turn at the same exact spot.

On March 5th at approximately 2:21 a.m. Deputy S.C. Jett was on Garrisonville Road when he observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn at the Salibury Drive intersection. Deputy Jett initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver. The driver, who had very bloodshot eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath, advised Deputy Jett his license was “probably” going to show he was suspended. He was indeed correct, it showed just that. Not only that, the driver was wanted out of Prince William for shoplifting. His passenger was also wanted out of Prince William for two counts of shoplifting and no license. The driver was charged with driving under the influence, driving while suspended, and making an illegal U-turn. Both were served their warrants and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.

Now for a little déjà vu.

On March 5th at approximately 7:22 p.m. Deputy M.A. Holub was on Garrisonville Road when he observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn at the Salibury Drive intersection. Deputy Holub initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver. The driver, who had the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and an empty mini-bottle of alcohol next to him, advised Deputy Holub he did not have a driver’s license. He was indeed correct. Not only that, while at the magistrate’s office, the driver began screaming towards the magistrate so loudly it caught the attention of about five jail staff members. The driver was charged with driving under the influence, having an open container while driving, refusal, obstruction of justice, driving without a license, and making an illegal U-turn. He was served on all his warrants and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Driver sober or get pulled over. We have attached a picture of what a no U-turn sign looks like in case there is any confusion.
