South Stafford Drug Discovery

Somedays can feel a bit like Groundhog Day, where everything is on repeat. Two deputies experience their own Groundhog Day after locating a wanted King George man.

On February 1st, at approximately 11:59 a.m. Deputy C.D. Sullivan and his Field Training Officer, Deputy B.W. Gildea, were traveling on Warrenton Road. While doing so, Deputy Gildea observed a vehicle he knew belonged to a wanted individual. Deputy Sullivan initiated a traffic stop at 7-Eleven located at 25 Solomon Drive. The driver was identified as the wanted individual, who had an active warrant out of Stafford for possession of a controlled substance.

During the search incident to arrest, suspected controlled substances were located on his person. But wait, there’s more. Just like Groundhog Day, additional suspected controlled substances were located throughout his vehicle. Deputies also located a concealed knife readily accessible from the driver’s seat. The suspect was transported to Rappahannock Regional Jail.

But wait, there’s more to this Groundhog Day syndrome. Once inside Rappahannock Regional Jail, the suspect was found to have even more suspected controlled substances on his person. But wait, the life on repeat effect doesn’t end there. Additional suspected controlled substances were located within his underwear.

The suspect was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of paraphernalia, two counts of felony by a prisoner, as well as, served on his outstanding warrant. He was held without bond as six more weeks of winter gets on its way.

Great work to both Deputy Sullivan and Deputy Gildea for being vigilant and locating yet another wanted individual in Stafford.
