Don’t try to shoplift earbuds in Stafford County…now that is sound advice.

On January 21st at 11:43 a.m. Deputy S.M. Craig responded to the Walmart at 217 Garrisonville Road for a shoplifter. Staff reported a female suspect in a bright orange shirt took earbuds and a charger from the store and fled on foot.

As Deputy Craig arrived at the scene, he observed the suspect on a grassy knoll near Fatty’s Taphouse. Evidently unaware of the deputy’s agility, the suspect initiated a foot pursuit westbound along Garrisonville Road.

The suspect did not make it far and was detained without incident. It was music to our ears that the stolen earbuds were recovered. The suspect was identified as a 16-year-old and released to her parent. Charges are being sought for petit larceny and obstruction of justice.
