Wanted Women Located

Stafford County Sheriff’s deputies were able to locate a wanted Maryland woman who faces serious charges.

On January 3rd, at approximately 12:43 p.m. deputies received a call from a detective with Anne Arundel County Maryland police department. The detective advised Jessica Onwudiachi, 36, recently abducted a five-year-old girl and believed she was currently in Stafford County in the area of Bells Hill Road.

Deputies began canvassing the area as the detective provided further updates on the suspect’s location. Detective K.W. McBride was able to successfully identify the suspect vehicle in the area of Richmond Highway and Hospital Center Boulevard. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle where deputies located Onwudiachi and the missing child.

Onwudiachi’s Maryland charges include abduction of a child under 12 years old, taking an abducted child under 12 years of age out of state and unlawful taking of a vehicle. She was arrested on a fugitive from justice warrant and is currently being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Deputy R.M. Connelly cared for the abducted child at the Sheriff’s Office until the mother could arrive and take custody.
