A pair of wanted subjects only delayed their inevitable date with the Rappahannock Regional Jail after eluding deputies Thursday night.

On November 3rd at 10:19 p.m. First Sergeant D.F. Purcell, Jr., Sergeant B.U. Demirci and Deputy M.A. Pearce learned two wanted subjects were in Stafford County. Mcray Hrabal, 30, of Stafford and Samantha Sharpes, 32, of King George were both wanted for failure to appear in court and were in a black Mitsubishi Eclipse with Florida registration.

The deputies attempted a traffic stop at Courthouse Road and I-95, but the suspect vehicle refused to stop and struck one of the law enforcement vehicles as it entered I-95 North headed in the wrong direction. Deputies terminated the pursuit due to the danger, but would persistently follow all leads to bring this duo to justice.

On November 4th deputies obtained information the absconding duo were in a Days Inn in Ruther Glen. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the room and responded to the hotel with the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office. The suspects initially refused to exit the room, but soon realized we were not giving up and surrendered.

Hrabal was charged with eluding, hit and run, possession of a controlled substance, possession of controlled paraphernalia, and failure to appear. Sharpes was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of controlled paraphernalia, and failure to appear. Both were held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
