An intoxicated driver was arrested yesterday after an accident on Plantation Drive.

On September 18th at approximately 5:10 p.m. Deputy R.L. Hubbard was handling a complaint near Plantation Drive when she heard the unmistakable sound of a crash and screeching brakes. She drove in the direction of the ruckus and located an auto accident near the intersection of Plantation Drive and Colleen Road.

The investigation revealed a Nissan Altima driven by Lawrence Collins, 31, of Stafford had crashed into the rear of a Hyundai Elantra causing injuries to a passenger in the Hyundai. Collins had an odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath and was arrested for DUI. Additionally, Deputy Hubbard learned Collins did not have a driver’s license.

Collins was charged with DUI with an elevated blood alcohol content over .20 and no driver’s license. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Drive sober or get pulled over.
