A Stafford man faces multiple charges after breaking into a residence and carrying multiple weapons.

On September 13th, at 7:01 p.m. Deputy R.L. Hubbard responded to Truslow Road in reference to a suspicious person attempting to unlawfully enter a residence. When Deputy Hubbard arrived, a witness was having a verbal argument with James Stidham, 32, of Stafford. It was advised Stidham had a weapon and was detained.

The witness advised Stidham chased a resident into their dwelling. Stidham then attempted to break down the door in order to enter the dwelling. Stidham admitted to trying to enter the residence, as well as using a controlled substance before the incident.

Stidham’s vehicle was searched due to him admitting controlled substances were still in the vehicle. Not only were suspected controlled substances located, but three concealed firearms were found as well. Stidham was charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a controlled substance, destruction of property, and public intoxication. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,500 secured bond.
