A suspect was arrested Wednesday after he peeled a sticker off the window of a vehicle in front of him in traffic.

On September 7th at 5:25 p.m. Deputy F.C. O’Neill responded to an assault complaint on Cranes Corner Road. The investigation revealed the female victim was stopped in traffic at the intersection of Enon Road and U.S. 1. The suspect was stopped behind her and began honking his horn. The suspect proceeded to exit his vehicle and began peeling a sticker, which he allegedly found offensive, from the rear of the victim’s vehicle.

The victim exited her vehicle to see what was happening and the suspect assaulted her before driving away. The suspect was located at a nearby residence and identified as Samiullah Shaikh, 30, of Stafford. Shaikh was charged with assault and battery and vandalism. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,000 bond.
