A repeat DUI offender was arrested yesterday after deputies responded to an unknown medical emergency in North Stafford.
On September 8th at 6:33 a.m. Deputy R.M. Connelly responded to the parking lot of Bob Evans in Stafford Market Place for an unknown medical emergency. He arrived to find the driver of a Nissan Titan unresponsive in the driver’s seat. The vehicle was running, in gear and the driver’s foot was resting on the brake. Further complicating the scene, the vehicle was locked.
Deputy Connelly was unable to awaken the driver by banging on the window, so he used his expandable baton to break a passenger side window. The truck was subsequently turned off and as deputies removed the driver to begin first aid, the driver woke up.
A suspected controlled substance and controlled paraphernalia were located in the vehicle. The driver was identified as Jonas Goldman, 33, of Virginia Beach. Goldman was charged with third offense DUI in five years, possession of a controlled substance and possession of controlled paraphernalia. He was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
Drive sober or get pulled over.
