At approximately 4:00 a.m. July 17th, 2022 Deputy S.P. Whitt was in the area of Jett Street in reference to the apprehension of an arson/larceny suspect. While there, Deputy Whitt observed a vehicle driving suspiciously. Due to the heightened number of vehicles being rummaged through, stolen and set on fire recently, Deputy Whitt ran the vehicle’s registration and discovered it was stolen out of Fredericksburg. Deputy Whitt initiated a high-risk traffic stop.

The driver, Tabitha Schmohl, 30, of Fredericksburg was then detained. The vehicle was determined to have been stolen from a resident in City of Fredericksburg. Schmohl was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and driving while suspended. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond.
