A Stafford County Deputy was in the right place, at the right time, to assist with a medical emergency at a crash scene in South Stafford yesterday afternoon.

On July 6th at 3:46 p.m. Deputy J.W. McAlister noticed a Ford F-150 truck had crashed into the side of a Virginia State Trooper near the intersection of Cambridge Street and Warrenton Road. The truck was still in drive and the driver was obviously suffering a medical emergency.

Deputy McAlister used his baton to break a passenger side window and access the cab in order to put the truck in park. He then turned the key off in the ignition, as the driver had his foot on the accelerator, revving the engine. Stafford County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to treat the driver and he was transported to the hospital. Both Deputy McAlister and the trooper were not injured and Virginia State Police handled the traffic accident.

Thank you Deputy McAlister for your quick actions to assist this motorist.
