A woman was arrested for several charges at a South Stafford convenience store after deputies were called for a disturbance early Wednesday morning.

On June 29th at 2:19 a.m. Deputy L.T. Ward and Deputy C.M. Sterne responded to the Wawa at 9 S Gateway Drive for a disturbance. A store employee reported a female was in the parking lot asking for money and bothering customers.

The female was identified as Michelle Oliver, 34, of no fixed address, though she wanted a ride to Richmond. When Oliver was told she needed to leave the property, she took two steps away, then lunged at Deputy Sterne. Deputy Ward was able to restrain Oliver, but she grabbed him and she was taken to the ground.

There were no injuries to the suspect or the deputies. The deputies determined Oliver was under the influence of drugs and obtained warrants for public intoxication and assault on law enforcement. Oliver was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
