A repeat DUI offender was jailed without bond yesterday after a traffic stop in North Stafford.

On June 5th at 1:38 a.m. Deputy E.E. West stopped a Lincoln Navigator at Greenspring Drive and Providence Street after witnessing the driver fail to maintain the lane of travel. The driver was identified as Reginald Mitchell, 54, of Stafford.

Mitchell had glassy eyes, slurred speech and an odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath. He explained he did not have a license due to a prior DUI. Field sobriety tests were conducted and Mitchell was arrested.

Mitchell was charged with DUI third offense in five years, driving revoked, refusal and obstruction. He was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Drive sober or get pulled over.
