A registered sex offender was arrested for loitering near a bus stop in North Stafford yesterday after an alert complainant called our office.

On May 24th at 3:12 p.m. Deputy R.A. Weatherholtz and Deputy W.M. Isenberg responded to the area of the pavilion on Hidden Lake Drive for a suspicious person. A resident reported Teddy Morrow, 45, of Orange, was hanging around the bus stop and is a registered sex offender.

As deputies contacted Morrow, he provided false identifying information. Deputies checked the DMV record to look at his photo, and confirmed the subject was Teddy Morrow. Additionally, they confirmed his status on the sex offender registry.

As deputies conducted the investigation, two school buses dropped off children at the bus stop. Morrow was charged with false identification, obstruction, identity theft, and being a sex offender loitering in proximity to children. He was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

The safety of children is of paramount importance to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. Thank you to the alert complainant for contacting our office!
