A woman was arrested yesterday after she was found to be wanted during a traffic stop in North Stafford.

On May 17th at 12:01 a.m. Deputy B.E. Vaughn observed a Ford Edge failing to maintain the lane of travel on Shelton Shop Road. A traffic stop was conducted at the intersection with Garrisonville Road and the driver was identified as Virginia Kimmel, 41, of Stafford.

Kimmel immediately let the deputy know she did not have a license. A check of her personal information revealed not only was her license suspended, but she had an active warrant in Fredericksburg for failure to appear.

Kimmel was arrested and a syringe containing a suspected controlled substance was found in the vehicle. Additionally, smoking devices were located on her and in her purse. Kimmel was served the outstanding warrant and charged with driving suspended, possession of a controlled substance, possession of controlled paraphernalia and the traffic lane violation. She was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,000 bond.
