A skip scanner was arrested yesterday and found to be wanted in another jurisdiction.

On March 8 at 4:56 p.m. Deputy C.J. Sacke and Deputy B.E. Vaughn responded to the Walmart at 125 Washington Square Plaza for a shoplifting. The investigation revealed Ashton Brooks, 33, of Fredericksburg had paid $29.66 for $223.55 worth of merchandise. Surveillance footage showed him scan one item, but place multiple items into shopping bags.

Brooks was arrested for the shoplifting and found to be wanted on a Capias from King George County. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $500 bond.
