An early morning intoxicated speeder was jailed after travelling over 100 mph on I-95 yesterday. On February 16th at 12:11 a.m. Deputy J.K. Griffith stopped a vehicle travelling 101 mph in the posted 65 mph zone of I-95 North near the Garrisonville Road exit. The driver was identified as Daniel Watters, 31, of Woodbridge. He explained he was familiar with the high speeds as he has experience navigating the Autobahn in Germany. Deputy Griffith noticed an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle and Watters had glassy eyes. Field sobriety tests were offered and Watters was arrested. Watters was charged with DUI and reckless driving. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. |
