Pursuit Suspect Arrested

A suspect who led deputies on a high speed pursuit through Stafford County and crashed into another driver last year has finally been released from the hospital and charged with several offenses.

On October 24th, 2021 Deputy C.T. Richardson attempted to stop a reckless driver on Mine Road, but the suspect refused to stop. The suspect led deputies on a pursuit westbound on Garrisonville Road to Rock Hill Church Road. The suspect continued at high speeds through Hartwood to southbound Warrenton Road. The pursuit ended when the suspect ran a red light at Butler Road and Chatham Heights Road, crashing into a vehicle turning at that intersection.

The other driver and her passenger were seriously injured in the accident. The suspect was identified as Christopher Belcher, 21, of Stafford and he was also seriously injured in the accident.

Belcher has been charged with DWI with reckless disregard/victim permanently impaired, maiming another while DUI, eluding and DWI:drugs. He was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on January 27th without bond.
