A prisoner in the Rappahannock Regional Jail added to his legal woes by using an improvised weapon during a fight in the jail.

On January 25th at 9:30 p.m. Deputy C.C. Crossett responded to the Rappahannock Regional Jail for a past occurred fight. The video evidence revealed two inmates exit their assigned cells, approach each other and begin fighting.

The fight was determined to be mutual combat and no charges were deemed necessary for the reciprocal assault. However, one of the inmates involved had created an improvised weapon by placing three soap bars into a tube sock. The inmate attempted to use the “soap in a sock” during the scuffle, but fortunately was not effective with the device.

Karsten Lea, 27, of Stafford, is now facing a charge of felony by prisoner. He is incarcerated and awaiting service of the warrant at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
