UPDATE: Clifton Harper Jr. was apprehended in Spotsylvania County on April 7, 2021.

On May 5, 2018 at 1:24 a.m., deputies responded to 557 Warrenton Road (Super 8) for a report of an assault. The investigation revealed the suspect, Clifton Harper Jr., 23, of Woodford, struck the female victim in the face several times. When the victim threatened to call 911, Harper took her cellphone from her. Harper also choked the victim. The victim was later able to alert motel staff who called the Sheriff’s Office. Harper fled upon deputy arrival.
