On January 11 at 10:25 p.m., Deputy C.T. Richardson observed a vehicle driving at a high-rate of speed in the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and Musante Road. Deputy Richardson caught up to the vehicle and observed it come to a stop in the middle of the intersection at Jefferson Davis Highway and American Legion Road. The vehicle was smoking and had heavy front-end damage.

Deputy Richardson initiated a traffic stop. Upon stopping, the suspect exited the vehicle and began walking towards the deputy. The suspect failed to comply with several of the deputy’s commands. Additional deputies were called to the scene and the suspect was successfully detained. He was identified as Trenton Allen, 33, of Fredericksburg. A firearm was discovered in Allen’s possession. Deputy Richardson also noticed Allen had slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet.

Allen was arrested for driving under the influence-2nd offense in 5 years, refusal of test-2nd offense in 5 years, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, obstruction of justice, and two counts of reckless driving. He was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Deputies later canvassed the area to locate the accident scene, but were unsuccessful.
