A brandishing suspect was arrested after a brief stand-off with Stafford Sheriff’s Deputies last night.

On November 30 at 9:11 p.m., the emergency communications center received a call from a female who stated a male suspect had pointed a gun at her. Deputies responded to Taylor Street where they met with the victim outside. The victim told deputies the suspect, Bryan Rosario, 27, of Fredericksburg, pointed a shotgun at her. Rosario also shoved the victim to the ground while pointing the gun at her. The victim was later able to escape and call the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies learned two children were still inside the residence with Rosario. Additional deputies arrived on scene while announcements were made for Rosario to come out of the house. The children were able to safely exit the home to awaiting deputies. Rosario ignored repeated commands to come out. Deputies observed him walking around inside and closing window blinds. At one point, Rosario exited the front door before going back inside the home. He later came out the back door, but attempted to retreat back inside as the arrest team closed in on him. Deputies were able to take Rosario into custody before he was able to get back inside the home.

Rosario was arrested for brandishing a firearm, abduction, and assault. He was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
