A suspect is in custody for multiple charges after a report of an assault.

On September 29 at 8:45 p.m., Deputy F.C. O’Neill responded to Willow Glen Court for a report of an assault. The investigation revealed the suspect, William Blaylock, 39, of Stafford, had assaulted two people before leaving the residence. Deputy O’Neill had reason to believe the suspect had been drinking and advised other deputies to be on the lookout for Blaylock’s vehicle.

It was also determined Blaylock was the suspect of a hit and run that had just occurred in the area of Puri Lane. The victim reported he was inside a vehicle parked in the area when it was struck by the suspect’s vehicle and it had fled the scene.

Deputy K. Voellmar observed Blaylock park his vehicle at Wawa (72 Austin Park Drive). The vehicle had damage consistent with the hit and run that occurred on Puri Lane. Deputy Voellmar observed Blaylock had glassy eyes and was unsteady on his feet. Field sobriety tests were administered and Blaylock was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. Blaylock was also charged with two counts of assault, hit and run, obstruction of justice, and refusal of test. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on an unsecured bond.
